Welcome to Mind Body Connection Health and Wellness Psychiatry

What Is An Emotional Support Animal (ESA)

An Emotional Support Animal (ESA) is a furry best friend who provides constant companionship and unconditional love to a person dealing with any emotional, mental, or psychological challenges

Home is not a home without your furry best friend.

We understands the comfort and companionship that a pet can provide, and we don’t think you should have to go without it.

That’s why we’re dedicated to helping you secure an ESA Letter, if you qualify, through a guided process that involves  screening, a licensed mental health professional session and a customer support team that is dedicated to getting you all the information you need. We and we make sure your letter is 100% compliant with state and federal regulations.

What rights do I get with an ESA Letter? Where can I take my ESA Letter?

Your rights depend on which ESA letter you applied for.

The Housing ESA letter entitles you to qualify for no-pet housing (in apartments with more than 4 units and houses where the landlord owns multiple properties). This means that even if an apartment is listed as not allowing pets, you are legally protected to have one. You also won’t have to pay a pet deposit and can’t be charged a pet fee by the owner.

An ESA letter does not provide protections for traveling with a pet or assistance animal. To travel with your animal worry-free, they must be a Psychiatric Service Dog (PSD.)

Who Qualifies For An Emotional Support Animal?

Anyone with a mental or emotional disability may qualify for an emotional support animal. Disability, in this instance, refers to anything that makes your life harder on average. This could include:

- Anxiety
- Depression
- PTSD
- Stress
- Personality Disorders
- Schizophrenia
- Phobias

And a host of other mental or emotional challenges you might encounter on a day to day basis. Pets have an incredible impact on mental health and well-being. As a result, there are a host of mental or emotional issues that can benefit from having a support animal..
